The Davids A Comparison essays
The Davids A Comparison essays From 1430 to 1623A.D., four sculptures of the Biblical David were created. From the master artists Bernini, Donatello, Michelangelo, and Verrocchio came the most famous Davids of the world. Even though infinitely many were made, these surpass the others to become marvels that will live forever. The earliest of the Davids, is the work of Donatello(c.1430). This magnificent work is a life-size, nude, bronze, figure of David. The sculpture is portraying the scene after David has cut off the head of Goliath. His foot is raised on the severed head in a stance of contropposto. His sword is in the right hand with the stone in the left. This very smooth and natural looking sculpture was originally part of Medici courtyard and is the only David of the four created for a private collection. There are a few symbolic ingredients to this David. The style of the figure refers to antiquity for the balance and composition of the nude. Energy in the sculpture animates the emotions and is a new technique used in this David, once again showing qualities from antiquity. This energy is not used in the other figures. In addition, Donatellos David is said to host homosexual overtones, in the feministic appearance of the body and the stance. Overall, this version of the biblical hero is elegantly designed and the originality is fascinating. Verrocchios David (c.1473-75A.D.) greatly differs from those of the other artists. This statue was commissioned by the Medici family, like that of Donatellos. However, it was created for public display. It was in the Palazzo Vecchio, where it gained almost a republican or city-related meaning similar to the reputation that the David of Donatello gained, after it was also moved to the same site. The similarity stops here. The proudness shows that the hero was well capable of slaying the ...

Research paper - Essay Example Even in the process of delivery, the female is worried whether she will have a normal or a cesarean delivery involving surgical procedures. The typical cesarean delivery leaves the mother weak and she has to take time and effort to recuperate from her labors. Apart from that, the pain of the surgical procedure makes women dread the prospect of a normal delivery and they would like to do anything to avoid it. This paper focuses on the usefulness and value of parent craft classes in reducing the fears of the females awaiting delivery, by arming them with the required knowledge and confidence in going through even a cesarean delivery. A sample of 30 females awaiting delivery were surveyed and interviewed at a local hospital to get an idea of how much attending parent craft classes helped in assuaging their fears of even a normal delivery. Background The process of childbirth is still one of the worldââ¬â¢s scientific miracles. Though medical science has progressed in great strides al ong this path, we still marvel at the intricacies of fertilization, conception and delivery. There are so many different variables and intrinsic and extrinsic factors that can affect the entire process that it is a wonder nevertheless how the whole process goes from start to finish. We have managed feats like invitro-fertilization, test tube babies, cloning, surrogate parenthood and what not, yet there is no disputing the fact that the process of pregnancy is still one of natureââ¬â¢s modern miracles. Medical science may take all the wait and wonder out of the process, even regarding the sex of the child, and reduce it to mechanical principles, but that does in no way reduce its importance. The delivery of a new born child after nine months in its motherââ¬â¢s womb is no less of an event- in fact it is the culmination of the entire process of pregnancy and the result is a healthy breathing baby that is ready to add its voice to the world. Deliveries can be touch and go, from t he simple to the complex, and that is why doctors, surgeons and gynaecologists spend months preparing the would-be mothers in all aspects from diet to exercise and rest, to noting the signs that delivery is imminent. As midwives, we are part and parcel of the delivery process and clients even confide some of their personal feelings and apprehensions regarding delivery and its complications to the surgeon or the midwife as delivery time comes near. Many are concerned about the chances of a normal delivery as compared to a caesarean one, and this remains one of their chief concerns. This paper will show the importance of parent craft classes in reducing the fears and apprehensions of the wouldââ¬âbe mother and helping her manage the delivery process in a much more knowledgeable and ready manner. In recent decades, as medical science progressed and customer service and care took on an increasingly important role, involving one or both parents in the process of delivery and pre-nata l and post-natal care also became more important. In fact you would be hard pressed to find a hospital in the UK these days that does not impress upon first time parents, the need for Lamaze and Parent Craft classes. The importance in the nuclear family is all the more accentuated, as the new parents have less help and almost no experience to fall back on in case of issues regarding infant care and health. At the

Inter-Global Medicare Entrepreneurs Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1000 words
Inter-Global Medicare Entrepreneurs - Essay Example Following this two-tire approach to the industry, the facilityââ¬â¢s plan will thus be fragmented to offer effective homage to both the facilities and it hopes to benefit more from strategic location of its premises. In the health care sector, access to quality care together with timely response is important. The event of seeking medical attention is usually necessitated by acute need for urgency. An effectively planned institution offers solution to all these. The firm seeks to build its facility in a highly populated area such as in the residential settlements of a city. This is an idea formed by the understanding that in the health sector, humans form the sole target. Consequently, situating a facility closer to the people makes it easier for them to reach the facility without much hustle. People will always seek medical services no matter how far the facilities may be situated. However, it is also understandable that should the facility be closer to the target market and offer effective and efficient services, then it is likely that the business will receive high demand. Emergency response is another aspect of medical service dispensation that will determine the success of any business venture in the sector. Accidents of varied forms occur in the society on a day-to-day basis; these require quick responses to help save life. Inter Global Medicare understands this quite well and is set to create a wing purposely for accidents and emergencies; this wing will be differ in its structure. It will have wider doors with free standing stretcher to help wheel clients into theatres and treatment rooms. This wing will also be deliberately situated to face the road and be accorded an ample parking lot. Strategy of placement and the design of the wing are important factors in the determination of the wingââ¬â¢s success; easier access and timely response will only be guaranteed if the wing conforms to the building standards of emergency rooms. The facility will have adequately qualified doctors and nurses whose services will be hired on a contract basis. A contract is more beneficial especially to a new facility such as the one in question. This is specifically so to try to cushion it against the volatilities in its operation. Should it fail to sustain the estimated postulations in its operations, then the business can very comfortably close operations without incurring unnecessary losses. The doctors and nurses hired by the firm will be highly qualified personnel whose services will guarantee the quality standards set by the institution. There are different market segments; there are is a segment is attracted to a product or service based on its prices while there is the average citizen who will

A midsummer Night dream :: essays research papers fc
The second half of the 16th century and the beginning of the 17th are sometimes called in England â⬠The Age of Shakespeareâ⬠. William Shakespeareââ¬â¢s the greatest English poet and dramatist and an indisputed world figure in literature. Altought his works (37 play, 154 sonnets and two long poems) are well knwnall over the world we know little about his life. Shakespeare was born on 23 April 1564, at stratford ââ¬âupon-Avon, a little town in the heart of England. He was educated at the local grammarschool but as his fatherââ¬â¢s business went from bad to worse, he had to leave school and begin to earn his living. We next hear of him when were eighteen and a married man. At the age of twenty-one, he set off to seek his fortune in the gratuity of London. There, he was inturn a horse-keep, a stage-boy, a play mender and finally a play-Wright. Shakespeare spent the last years of his life at Stratford, where he died on the 23rd of April 1616. William Shakespeare was a great humanist. His interes in the life and the people of his time made him watch with an observant eye the scenery of his native country, men and women in all walks of life, their appearance, habits and speech. He was familiar with the traditions of English folklore and showed deep concern for his people and his countyââ¬â¢s destiny. His work may be divided into three periods: I.à à à à à The first period is hat of poems the sonnets, the historical plays or ââ¬Å"chroniclesâ⬠(Richard II, Richard III, Henry IV Julius Caesar etc.) comedies (Twelfth Night, A Midsummer Night Dream, The Taming of the Shrew, The Merchant of Venice, etc) and a few tragedies (Romeo and Juliet, etc.). In general Shakespeareââ¬â¢s writings in this period are full of optimism. II.à à à à à The second period includes the great tragedies (Hamlet, Othello, King Lear, and Macbeth) The disillusionment of the humanists is felt throughout. III.à à à à à The third period includes the ââ¬Å"romanceâ⬠plays (The Tempest, The Winter`s Tale, etc.) which are caracterized by a more serene atmosphere. Altought Shakespeare`s language is very difficult, almost evry word combination forms a picture. To understand Shakespeare (both his language and his ideas), we have not ââ¬Å"to readâ⬠but ââ¬Å"to studyâ⬠his works as our great poet Mihai Eminescu said. The apeat compilation of stiles from the comical group of William Shakespeare has a tipical example in A Midsummer Nigt`s Dream. In this opera, the ââ¬Å"Maskâ⬠-specific for this time joins to the popular medieval theatre elements, represented by the guilds & english folklore.

Inventory system introduction Essay
Chapter 1 INTRODUCTION Nowadays, computer-based system is commonly found in the business world. This is because of the benefits it gives in the respective companies. In addition, an upgraded system in this point of time is a big advantage due to the great deal of the competition in our economy. Technically, logical and analytical skills will certainly improve after this study. Hopefully, this study will also be character-building and still upon the importance of teamwork and maintaining harmony within the group which will be quite handy in the corporate world. One of the disadvantages of not having a computerized Inventory System is that, there a chance of inaccurate data record in a manual inputting of inventory records. Also there is a delay in updating records due to manual process. Miguelââ¬â¢s Home Merchandise is a growing company with an increasing size of customers. And so, today the company needed a computerized based program that can handle such difficulties. 1.1 Statement of the Problem 1.1.1 General Problem How to develop an Inventory System with Point of Sale for Miguelââ¬â¢s Home Merchandise that will improve the current process of inventory, lessen the time consumed in categorizing, pricing, monitoring of the items and customerââ¬â¢s transaction? 1.1.2 Specific Problems 1.1.2.1 How to develop a module that will provide an inventory and transaction system for the company? Currently, the company is still using calculator to compute the total amount of items purchased by the customers. For this reason, there are some instances where error occurred using this manual way of computation. 1.1.2.2 How to develop a module that will monitor the reorder and critical level of companyââ¬â¢s items? Since the company is conducting an inventory every week by manual record, there are some instances where not aware on what are those items are in reorder or critical level. 1.1.2.3 How to develop a module that will generate fast and accurate reports? Currently the company is still using manual record on each report, there are some instances where the company is too busy to monitor sales reports and it consumes most of their time. 1.2 Current State of the Technology Miguelââ¬â¢s Home Merchandise was using a manual method of listing their items. They call their suppliers to order some items or they went to their suppliers to buy items and upon reaching the store they count the items one by one and write it down in a record book. And when the time comes to put it into display they just attached a sticker for the price in every item. And if there is a sudden change in price of the items, they just erase the records in the record book and update the price. Staffs like Manuel Ciyab create manually reports, check their inventory weekly and report it to the owner, Mrs. Miguel. The existing customer transaction is just a typical buying; the customer arrived, walk through the store and look in the shelves for the item they want and the staff will assist the customer and walk with her/him to look for the items. And eventually after paying the items, the staff uses a calculator to compute the total price and issue a receipt by writing it in a formatted paper, filling up the date, total price, change etc. At the end of the day the staff will list all items and compute for their sales. Again, using a calculator and writing it in a record book. The current system was done manually, their encounter some problems that occur in the process. Considering the problem cited, the proponents intended to develop an inventory system with point of sale that would help the company for the fast monitoring of items, accurate reports and fast customer transaction. 1.3 Objectives 1.3.1 General Objective To develop an Inventory System with Point of Sale for Miguelââ¬â¢s Home Merchandise that will improve the current process of inventory, lessen the time consumed in categorizing, pricing, monitoring of the items and customerââ¬â¢s transaction. . 1.3.2 Specific Objectives The proposed system aims to achieve the following objectives: 1.3.2.1 To develop a module that will provide an inventory and transaction system for the company.à The proposed system will allow the user to input items data electronically for more secure and faster data retrieval and count all items accurately while the customers will just go to the cashier and because of the search feature of the computerized system it will be easy to find if the item is available. And the staff will compute the total amount using the proposed system and the issuing of receipt is already printed. 1.3.2.2 To develop a module that will monitor the reorder and critical level of companyââ¬â¢s items. The proposed system has a module on which items are monitored if there are in reorder or critical level, and the system will automatically notify the user if there are any items that reached its critical level using color coding. 1.3.2.3 To develop a module that will generate fast and accurate reports. For computing reports such as daily sales report the system provide a module that will generate necessary report to determine product master list and sales report. The time will lessen since all the computing is done in the system.
